In the Lviv community, it has been decided to relocate 14 more abandoned cars to the police impound lot. This decision was made by the commission on February 24, which is responsible for identifying and relocating such vehicles. Specifically, 13 cars will be evacuated in Lviv, and one in Vynnyky. The process is planned to be completed by the end of March.
Over a month ago, notifications were placed on the cars informing the owners of the need to remove them, but no response was received. The vehicles show signs of being abandoned: they are old, from the 70s and 80s, with broken windows and missing body parts.
Oleh Zabarilo, director of the Lviv City Mobility Department, noted that the commission is currently handling over 100 such cases. Owners are left with informational notices urging them to remove the cars or bring them to proper condition.
This year, three such cars have already been relocated in Lviv. Last year, the procedure for identifying and relocating abandoned cars was approved. After a month of warnings, the commission may decide to evacuate the vehicle to a storage lot for up to six months. If the owner does not come forward during this time and does not pay the storage fees (120 UAH for the first 7 days and 20 UAH for each additional day), the car will be auctioned off.
