Lviv City Hall to make another layoff

As of 1 June, another 218 positions were optimised at Lviv City Hall.

The reduction in the number of employees was in line with the previously approved structure of the city council’s executive bodies. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Lviv City Council has seen three waves of redundancies, with a total of nearly 400 positions being optimised.

“Due to the war, unfortunately, we have to make unpopular decisions,” the city council explained.

By the way, this is the third wave of staff reductions in the Lviv City Council during the war. At the end of last year, the city council approved a new structure of Lviv city council executive bodies, the total number of employees and its executive bodies. At that time, three departments were liquidated: the city agglomeration, human resources and administrative services, and the information technology department was disbanded. Changes were also made in other departments of the city council.

As of 1 June, 1,471 people remained employed by Lviv City Council.
