An additional checkpoint for empty trucks and tanks will be opened at the “Ugryniv – Dolgobychiv” PE

Today, December 4, Ukraine and Poland will open an additional checkpoint “Ugryniv – Dolgobychiv” for empty trucks and tanks leaving Ukraine.

As the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Oleksandr Kubrakov, said, this is a general checkpoint, which usually worked only for cars and buses.

According to him, the opening of this checkpoint is the first step towards unblocking the border, reducing queues and increasing the capacity of the Ukrainian-Polish border. The checkpoint will work in test mode and will be able to allow the departure of more than 100 trucks per day.

At the same time, on December 1, the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine reported that together with the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland “they are jointly working on measures to unblock the border.” “The key positions are to improve the capacity of existing checkpoints, in particular the effectiveness of phytosanitary and other types of control, in order to comply with the memorandums regulating the number of trucks allowed across the border. It is also about the development of an Action Plan for the development of Ukrainian-Polish checkpoints (on the Ukrainian side, the development strategy ) is already ready)”.

Polish carriers have been blocking the movement of trucks at several checkpoints on the Polish-Ukrainian border since November 6. They demand the return of permits for Ukrainian drivers and the removal of Polish cars from the electronic queue, and they also want to release empty Polish trucks from the territory of Ukraine out of turn. As a result, several thousand Ukrainian trucks got stuck on the border with Poland.
