Reconstruction of the first floor is underway in the psycho-neurological department of the Chervonograd City Hospital

It is worth noting that the repair works are carried out with the funds of donors as part of the implementation of the Ukrainian-Swiss project “Mental health for Ukraine — MH4U” in partnership with the BF “FRGO “Western Ukrainian Resource Center” and with the support of the Embassy Switzerland in Ukraine.

This was reported in the Chervonograd City Council.

As the head of the psycho-neurological department, Taras Pogranichnyi, said, this long-awaited reconstruction is taking place thanks to the fruitful cooperation of the Chervonograd City Council and the project coordinator, Orest Suval. The main task is to improve access and conditions of stay of patients in the field of mental health not only in the Chervonohrad community, but also in the entire district.

“Repair works are being carried out in the polyclinic department, where the admission of a child and adult psychiatrist, as well as the narcology service, will be limited. Reconstruction of the premises of the first floor began in September 2023 and is tentatively planned to be completed in March 2024. There will be an outpatient service of a psycho-neurological dispensary, which includes child and adult psychiatrists, a narcologist, a psychologist, a psychotherapist, and a speech therapist. Currently, all windows have been replaced, preparatory work has been carried out, two bathrooms are planned to be repaired,” Taras Pogranichnyi said.

For reference, the Mental health for Ukraine (MH4U) project was created to support the reform of the mental health system in Ukraine. The project is implemented with the support of Switzerland, which is provided through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in support of the reform of the mental health care system in Ukraine. MH4U embodies the approaches of the “Concept for the development of mental health care in Ukraine for the period until 2030”, which provides for the creation of an integrated, effective system of mental health care, which functions in a single interdepartmental space, ensures the improvement of the quality of life and respect for human rights and freedoms .
