The newly built place will become a modern facility of critical infrastructure to serve the population in the mountainous area. The center will cover three districts: Stryiskyi, Sambirskyi and Drohobytskyi. It will house the fire department, the police and the medical aid department.
The Skhidnytsk community decided to build such a Center in 2022. The village of Skhidnytsia itself is a resort town that is visited annually by more than 60,000 tourists. Currently, there is no full-fledged hospital and fire station in Skhidnytsia.
Considering the importance of building a security center for the region, the community decided to hand over the functions of the customer to the Department of Capital Construction of the Lviv Regional State Administration. After signing the contract, the contractor performed a set of works in the period from October 2022 to March 2023.
“The safety of our citizens, especially during a major war, is extremely important. Skhidnytsia and surrounding communities are tourist destinations. In the summer of this year, a flood occurred on the territory of this community, and then the great efforts of our emergency services were directed precisely at its elimination. The new Security Center will create appropriate conditions for the performance of the functional duties of the fire and rescue, medical and law enforcement services,” said the deputy head of the Lviv Police Department Yuriy Buchko.
Funds for the construction of the Citizen Security Center were allocated within the regional Comprehensive Program “Safe Lviv region for 2021-2025”. The total cost is more than 30 million hryvnias.
