On Friday, 13 September, the contractor Promtekhvod-C, which is reconstructing the suspension bridge over the Zakhidnyi Buh River, started installing the deck.
According to Petro Pavliuk, Head of Capital Construction and Investments, the steel deck will serve as a formwork for concrete. The decking will be installed by the end of this month.
To recap: A 29-year-old director of a Lviv company is suspected of embezzling UAH 1.5 million during the reconstruction of a suspension bridge in Chervonohrad. As a result, the suspect misappropriated local budget funds in the amount of about UAH 1.5 million. The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Chervonohrad District Police Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region.
Next, the contractor will bring the ropes to the design position, continue reinforcement and preparatory work for concreting. These works will continue in September and October. Weather conditions permitting, the contractor may start pouring concrete on the bridge base this year.
A reminder: On Sunday, 3 October, at around 17:00, a single cross support under a 2.5-metre-long section of wooden decking collapsed on the suspension bridge over the Western Bug, most likely due to a significant load from the crowd. Both the main and additional supports broke off.
According to the terms of the contract, the bridge reconstruction should be completed by 31 October 2025.
