Sheptytske will soon have modern cogeneration units that will ensure a stable heating supply during power outages. This initiative will benefit over 5,000 residents and 20 public institutions, providing them with consistent heating even during emergencies.
This project is part of the Action Plan for the Just Transition of the Lviv Coal Microregion and has been approved by an expert commission for funding under the “Ukraine Recovery Program III.”
Last year, with support from USAID, three cogeneration units with a total capacity of 1,590 kW were purchased. Now, with financing from the European Investment Bank, necessary installation work will be carried out, including:
- construction of foundation slabs,
- installation of supports for engineering networks,
- construction of a thermal chamber,
- laying a medium-pressure gas pipeline and heating network pipes,
- installation of a transformer.
The total project cost is UAH 26.4 million, with UAH 19.8 million funded by the EIB and UAH 6.6 million covered by the local community. The work is expected to be completed before the start of the heating season.
