The Sokal City Council has announced an open architectural competition to determine the best design proposal for a memorial plaque to commemorate the fallen defenders.

“MEMORIAL INFORMATION BOARD IN COMMEMORATION OF THE DEAD DEFENDERS AND DEFENDERS – HEROES OF UKRAINE OF THE RUSSIAN-UKRAINIAN WAR, which is located between Sheptytskoho Street and the territory of the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul:

An open architectural competition to determine the best design proposal for the installation of a monumental and decorative art object “MEMORIAL INFORMATION BOARD IN COMMEMORATION OF THE DEAD DEFENDERS AND DEFENDERS – HEROES OF UKRAINE OF THE RUSSIAN-UKRAINIAN WAR” is announced to find a form of artistic reflection, as well as architectural and spatial solutions for the perpetuation of historical events and the feat of their participants, taking into account the significance and content of the object, the heroic contribution of soldiers in the struggle for the future of Ukraine, to perform an educational function and patriotic education of future generations, the significance and scale of the event, the memory of people who paid with their lives for their choice and active citizenship.
A written application for participation in the Competition is accepted from 15 October to 15 November 2024.
Conceptual designs for the Competition are to be submitted by the participants to the Competition organiser by 14 January 2025 at the following address: 61, Sheptytskoho St., Sokal, 80001, /2nd floor/ tel. (067) 17-21-843, E-mail: arch.sokal@gmail.com.
The Jury shall review the submitted projects for compliance with the terms of the Competition, summarise the results of the Competition and determine the winners of the Competition from 22 to 26 January 2025.
The results of the Competition shall be announced by the Competition customer on 26 January 2025 and published in the media and on the official website of the Competition customer within 10 days from the date of announcement.
Requirements for the professional level of the participants: citizens of Ukraine, legal entities, individuals – business entities, both individual specialists and teams of authors in the field of urban planning, architects, monumental and fine arts, who have received education in the relevant specialties on the day of its announcement, are invited to participate in the Competition.
The competition is held free of charge in one round.
The winner of the Competition receives the priority right to further implement the project.
Language requirements: all inscriptions and printed materials of one competition project must be in the same language in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine on languages.
