The 47th session of the Drohobych City Council took place: what decisions were made by the deputy corps?

Today, 22 February, the 47th session of the Drohobych City Council took place. Traditionally, the community members began their work with a prayer and blessing from Father Ivan Pankiv, and then with inquiries and appeals.

Deputy Marta Slotylo voiced an important appeal to the President of Ukraine and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces with a request to provide rest and rehabilitation for soldiers who, after heavy fighting in the Kupyansk sector of the frontline, are sent back to the frontline as part of other units.

And MP Maria Stetsyk voiced an appeal to extend payments to IDP families, as according to the new Cabinet of Ministers’ Resolution, starting in March, such payments will be limited to categories of internally displaced persons, and about half of IDPs will be left without state housing assistance.

The session was also attended by representatives of the local military unit, who announced the figures for personal income tax payments on military salaries in 2022-2023, thanked for their support and asked for additional financial assistance for the construction and refurbishment of barracks.

After the speeches and appeals, the deputies proceeded to consider the agenda and considered a number of issues related to the budget, social sphere, lease and privatisation of community property and land use. The session also approved a heat supply scheme and a support programme for the Drohobychteploenergo utility company.

At the end of the session meeting, the council considered issues related to the security and support of military personnel, which, in accordance with the law, are held in secret.
