Starting tomorrow, Lviv parks will be treated for ticks: schedule

On Monday, May 13, the Lviv community will start acaricide treatment of parks, forest parks and green areas. The treatment will last for 5 days – until Friday, May 17 inclusive. Residents are urged to refrain from visiting parks during this period.

According to the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Lviv City Council, acaricide treatment is carried out annually in the Lviv community to prevent ticks from breeding and minimize the risk of tick bites. For this purpose, they have signed agreements with the regional utility company Preventive Disinfection. The city’s parks and green areas will be treated with the insecticide caracid Tsipertrin.

The treatment will be carried out in compliance with all safety requirements and under favorable weather conditions (in dry weather, at an air temperature of at least +10°C). Areas near playgrounds, paths, recreation areas, etc. will be treated. The total area to be treated is 136,850 m2.
