Drohobych honoured athletes who glorify the city on the national and international arenas

The Drohobych community has a lot to be proud of. The pupils of sports clubs and sections operating on the basis of the Bobersky Children’s and Youth Sports School and sports clubs of the community demonstrate a high level of training and win competitions at regional, national and even international levels.

Each championship brings new medals and cups to the award treasury, and Drohobych is established not only as a city of salt, but also as a city of developing children’s talents and training real champions.

Yesterday, on 22 May, in the hall of the Drohobych Town Hall, Mayor Taras Kuchma presented letters of appreciation to young athletes of the Drohobych community and thanked them for their contribution to the promotion of the city and country at the national and international levels.

 

In addition to the sports facilities, parental support and personal motivation, a significant merit in this process belongs to the coaches, as they plan the training strategy for each of their students day and night, analyse mistakes and work to make each next performance better and more successful. This was emphasised by Oksana Sotrykhina, Head of the Physical Culture and Sports Department, who urged young athletes not to forget to thank their coaches and maintain a special bond with them.

During the event, the mayor thanked the following people for their significant personal contribution to the development of sports and glorification of Drohobych at national and international competitions:- Veronika Tkachuk, Ukrainian champion in team event,
– Ivan Safonov, Ukrainian champion in pairs event,- Markiaan Gilevich, Ukrainian kickboxing champion in the light contact section,
– Vitaliy Stakhiv, Ukrainian kickboxing champion in the seven-contact section,- Ostap Tershak, champion of Ukraine in kickboxing in the formal complexes division,
– Oleksiy Voitovych, master of sports of international class, champion of Ukraine in kickboxing in the formal complexes section,
– Nazariy Sadoviak, champion of Ukraine in kickboxing in the full contact section,
– Vitaliy Glavach, Ukrainian kickboxing champion in the full contact section,
– Bohdan Kot, Ukrainian kickboxing champion in the full contact section,
