A new social service has been launched in the Drohobytsk community, which allows people from among the defined privileged categories of the population to get to medical, educational, administrative institutions of the community for free, or to get to the necessary destination – by taxi. The cost of travel is compensated by an international fund that supported the implementation of the project in our community.
The service can be used by:
– people with disabilities;
– people with mobility difficulties;
– elderly people (60+).
The project has already started, and the first feedback from users of the social taxi is very positive. People note the convenience and reliability of the provided service, because now they can easily get to medical and administrative institutions, the pharmacy they need, a hospital or a place to receive psychological services.
The new social service was introduced by the Drogobitsk City Center of Social Services in partnership with the French Premiere Urgense International Foundation.
This has become a great relief for those who previously had limited access to transport – the Drohobytsi City Center of Social Services emphasizes. This is important for removing barriers in the daily life of people with disabilities and other low-mobility categories of the population.
The “social taxi” service operates throughout the Drohobytsk community. It can be used for trips to medical institutions, rehabilitation centers, educational institutions, places of social activity and for other needs.
People with disabilities and groups of people with limited mobility who cannot use public transport due to their health, as well as the elderly, have the right to use the “Social Taxi” service.
An employee of the Center for Social Services helps to fill out an application for receiving this service. After the application is approved, the international fund orders and pays for the taxi within the agreed time.
