У пологовому відділенні Дрогобицької лікарні триває Школа відповідального батьківства

The School of Responsible Parenthood continues in the maternity ward of Drohobych Hospital

Bringing a new life into the world is a difficult and extremely responsible task. In Drohobych, the community rejoices at the birth of new residents and tries to support mothers in every way possible. The birth of babies is proudly announced from the Town Hall tower, and packages with gifts for newborns and essentials are delivered to the city’s maternity unit every week.

Nevertheless, the process of preparing for childbirth is an extremely responsible task, the specialists of the maternity unit of Drohobych City Hospital No. 1 are convinced. To ensure that future parents are familiar with all the nuances and prepare for childbirth consciously and responsibly, the institution holds a “School of Responsible Parenthood”.

During the training, you can get acquainted in advance with the methods of non-medicinal pain relief, which are of great advantage during childbirth and do not have a negative impact on the health of the mother and child.

At the next meeting at the School of Responsible Parenting, expectant mothers learned more about the active position of the woman in labour, massage during labour and the use of a fitball during childbirth.

They also received information about the benefits of partner childbirth. In particular: how to choose a partner for childbirth? Why do you need a partner during childbirth? When should you do without a partner? And what is the role of a partner in childbirth?

As a reminder, the School of Responsible Parenting was launched to promote a healthy and conscious approach to childbirth. It is aimed at promoting the development of parental potential and minimising the risk of children being placed in institutional care due to lack of skills in childbirth and parenting.

At the same time, the maternity unit of Drohobych City Hospital No. 1 regularly organises “Open Days” for expectant mothers. During the meeting, those present have the opportunity to get answers to their questions, visit the delivery rooms, postnatal wards, inspect the equipment and conditions of stay for women in labour and newborn babies.
