Tomorrow, repair work will begin on Soborna Square and Chornovil Avenue. Chornovil Avenue: the location of public transport stops will be changed
In Lviv, two public transport stops – on Soborna Ave. 39-41, will be equipped with a barrier-free space. Repair work will begin tomorrow, July 29. For the duration of the work, passenger boarding/disembarking points at these locations will be changed.
Thus, at 39-41 Chornovil Ave. trolleybuses and buses will board and disembark passengers faster – approximately 30 meters before the existing stop. This was reported by the Galician District Administration.
On Soborna Square, the final stop of trams #3 and #8 will be moved from Soborna Square to the existing Shukhevycha stop.
“Trams #3 and #8 will run along their usual routes, but will not board or disembark passengers at Soborna Square, but will only turn around. Instead, passengers traveling to the city center will disembark one stop faster – at Shukhevycha. Passengers traveling away from the city center will board at the next stop on the route after Soborna Street – Shukhevycha,” said Pavlo Sirvatka, deputy head of the Lviv City Council’s Department of Safety and Street Infrastructure.
According to district administrations, since the beginning of the year, public transport stops have been made accessible on Zelena Street near the AS-5, Chukarina Street, 10, Medova Pechera Street, 45 and 67, Stryiska Street near the National Army Academy, Vyhovskoho Street, 32, Shevchenko Street, 113, Bryukhovychi Street (Ryasne-1), Shevchenko-Kovch Street, and Nezalezhnosti Ukrayiny Street in Bryukhovychi. As of now, work is underway to equip 5 more transport stops in the city to make them barrier-free.
In total, almost 75% of bus stops are currently accessible or partially accessible to people with reduced mobility.
