Lviv Region Police once again warn – be vigilant and protect your property.<\/p>\n
On May 18, hotline 102 received a message from a 35-year-old Lviv resident that a bank card had been stolen from the back pocket of his trousers a few days ago. In the future, more than 8,000 hryvnias were withdrawn from the card.<\/p>\n
The measures taken by the operatives of the Criminal Police of the Lviv District Police Department \u21161 established the identity of the malefactor – a 33-year-old resident of the Lviv district.<\/p>\n
In fact, investigators of the territorial police department opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is imprisonment for up to eight years.<\/p>\n
Lviv Region Police warns – be vigilant and protect your property:
\n– do not carry valuables, documents and keys in the outer pockets of clothes, bags and backpacks (especially in the back pockets) – it is better to use inner pockets, waist bags;
\n– make sure that the wallet does not stand out on the clothes and does not attract attention;
\n– make sure your bag is closed and keep it in sight;
\n– pay special attention to people who try to approach you closely;
\n– do not carry large sums of money – take as much as you plan to spend;
\n– do not list money in the wallet in front of people;<\/p>\n
If you are a victim of a “pocket thief”, you must report it to the hotline “102”.
\nIt should be:
\n– remember the signs of the attacker: what he was wearing, approximate height, age, physique;
\n– where the attacker ran;
\n– describe the stolen property;
\n– block credit cards;
\n– wait at the place of police officers.<\/p>\n
