During the week, William operated on five children with our heart surgeons.<\/h2>\n<p>During their visit, a team of American medics joined the complex operations on the aortic, mitral and tricuspid valves. The youngest patient was only 3 days old, the oldest &#8211; 18 years old.<\/p>\n<p>The most difficult surgery was Ross&#8217;s operation on 4-year-old Nastuna, whose condition was already critical. To save her life, cardiac surgeons replaced the girl&#8217;s affected aortic valve with her own pulmonary artery valve.<\/p>\n<p>William Novik&#8217;s team also handed over consumables and medical equipment weighing about 2.5 tons to TMO, which our specialists have already started working with.<\/p>\n<p>This is the fourth mission of Novic Cardiac Alliance to Lviv for the development of pediatric cardiac surgery in Western Ukraine.
