In the Frankiv district of Lviv, on the street Efremov, 70, another historical gate was restored. The restoration was carried out within the framework of the city’s co-financing program, which is coordinated by the LKP “Heritage Bureau” of the Department of Historical Environment Protection. They started restoring the doors even before the start of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine.<\/p>\n

“The wood of this oak door was very ‘twisted’, we had to level it and replace up to 10% of the already unusable material. We also fixed the door frame and replaced the curtains, which were completely worn out. We also had to make new door handles, which were not there at all: someone had scratched them or removed them relatively recently, because we found the authentic ones in the photo on Google Maps. And based on this photo, new ones were made,” said restorer Pavlo Voytovych.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Also in the door on the street. Efremov, 70, they replaced the threshold and made new grilles. “The old grilles have not been preserved at all. So we focused on the marks from the authentic ones left on the tree. Also, this door once had faceted glass, which was lost: we put it back in place,” adds the specialist.<\/p>\n

“The total cost of the works is UAH 62,000. Of this amount, the city paid 70%, so the residents’ contribution amounted to almost UAH 18,600,” said Pavlo Bogajchyk, director of the “Heritage Bureau” LKP.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
