A fine of UAH 170,000 was imposed on the owner – PF – Onyx LLC. In addition, the city turned to the police and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. Nataliya Alekseeva, head of affairs of the LMR executive committee, announced this on her Facebook page.<\/p>\n
However, the owner is appealing the fine in court. The police did not open criminal proceedings, but sent the case materials to the DABK Inspection, which actually has no authority over monuments of national importance.<\/p>\n
According to Lilia Onishchenko, the head of the historical environment protection department of the LMR, the city council appealed to the court regarding the restoration of the monument.<\/p>\n
“This company bought the communal premises of the Lviv City Council at the auction. In the house on the square Rynok, 40, dismantled a part of the office without any permits, destroying the wooden floors. The fine of UAH 170,000, which they are appealing, is a very mild punishment. Because they destroyed valuable architectural elements, in particular carved beams. And this is after the security agreements were signed, where they undertook to preserve the monument. That is, they understood what they were doing,” Liliya Onishchenko said.<\/p>\n
She added that the owner not only destroyed the monument on the square. Market, but also wanted to capture part of the yard for public use. “Earthworks have begun in the yard of the building, which is for general use by the residents,” Liliya Onishchenko said.<\/p>\n
Building No. 40 on the square Market – Kamianitsa Zuhorovychivska – built in the 17th century. In the second half of the 18th century belonged to the monastery of St. Onuphria.
