At the invitation of Fr. Bishop Yaroslav Pryriz arrived for the consecration of Mykhailo Nikolyn. According to the ancient rite, the youngest parishioners and the entire clergy, led by the church administrator, met the bishop at the door of the church with bread and salt.<\/p>\n
The Solemn Bishop’s Liturgy was led by Bishop Yaroslav in co-service with Fr. Mykhailo Nikolina, parish administrator, Fr. Bohdan Dobryansky, dean of Sambir, and the fathers of the Old Sambir deanery.<\/p>\n
At the beginning of the Liturgy, the bishop gave a short catechism about the Rite of Consecration of the Throne. The updated ferretron with the icons of St. Nicholas and the Virgin of Perpetual Help was also consecrated.<\/p>\n
During Bishop Yaroslav’s sermon, he congratulated the parishioners on the holiday, recalling the glorious history of the Saint Nicholas Church, explained the Sunday Gospel reading and told about Saint Nicholas.<\/p>\n
At the end of the Liturgy, Bishop Yaroslav thanked Fr. Mykhailo for his work on the development of the Deanery and the Church of St. Nicholas. He recalled that at the beginning of the 90s, there were only two churches in the area where Greek Catholics prayed, in Staria Sola and Tarnava. Now three deaneries have been formed, where young priests serve. Three years ago, a restored iconostasis was consecrated in the Church of St. Nicholas, since then the church is constantly being updated, and ancient things are being restored.<\/p>\n
