A citizen of Ukraine was sentenced in absentia for participation in a terrorist organization (Part 1 of Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) on a public accusation by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.<\/h2>\n

Prosecutors proved in court that the resident of Lysychansk had been participating in the illegal armed formation of the so-called “LPR” since 2014. The man served in military service as a sniper platoon commander of the People’s Militia Army Corps.<\/p>\n

During his service, the convict trained snipers and ensured the functioning of observation posts for enemy intelligence, supervised the exits of subversive and reconnaissance groups to the territory controlled by Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Since the person is wanted, the beginning of the term of serving the punishment will be calculated from the day of his arrest and execution of the sentence.<\/p>\n

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of the SBU Office in the Lviv region.<\/p>\n
