Yesterday, January 27, a round table was held at the Ukrainian Catholic University dedicated to the protection of the rights of children who were left without parental care in the conditions of martial law – “Big problems of small Ukrainians that adults have to solve.”<\/p>\n
The event was attended by the heads of children’s services of the Lviv Regional Military Administration and the Lviv City Council, representatives of institutional institutions, public organizations and foundations that take care of children’s rights.<\/p>\n
As Volodymyr Lys, head of LOVA’s children’s service, noted during the round table, the full-scale military invasion not only exposed the problems that existed before that, but also created new difficult challenges for the Ukrainian state in the field of protecting children’s rights, in particular, the evacuation of children from frontline territories, placement in orphanages in Lviv region, creation of comfortable and safe living conditions for internally displaced children.<\/p>\n
During the round table, the issue of returning children to their places of permanent residence, challenges and prospects in the training of social workers to work with children during the war, the participation of public organizations and charitable foundations in advocating the interests of children displaced from the territories of hostilities and other issues were also discussed.<\/p>\n
