Today, March 22, the head of the Lviv OVA, Maksym Kozytskyi, met with representatives of the Japanese non-governmental organization Peace Winds Japan and the BF “Right to Defense”.<\/p>\n
Together, from November 2022 to May 2023, these organizations are implementing the project “Providing humanitarian aid to the war-affected population of Western Ukraine” in the Lviv region, within the framework of which three mobile groups provide forced migrants and local victims with psychological and legal consultations, as well as humanitarian aid (food kits, hygiene products, medical supplies).<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the representatives of the parties discussed the help that is currently needed in the Lviv Region in arranging residences for IDPs and creating comfortable conditions for persons with disabilities, in particular, supported residences.<\/p>\n
In addition, they discussed the prospects for the exchange of experience between the schools of the Lviv Region and Japanese schools and joint familiarization trips for schoolchildren after the war.<\/p>\n
The head of the Lviv OVA said that the three key directions in improving living conditions for IDPs are the arrangement of housing for them, which the Lviv OVA carries out together with partner organizations, renovation of institutions where older people and people with disabilities live, activity of advisory and coordination centers for assistance to IDPs and mental health support.<\/p>\n
“One of the tasks that the regional military administration now sets before itself is the support of the psychological health of people who suffered from the war, as well as the development of a network of youth centers and libraries for maximum adaptation in a new place of IDP youth and the development of extracurricular education, in particular, tourism, patriotic education and scientific circles,” added Maksym Kozytskyi.<\/p>\n
As Ivanna Gerus, project manager of the Right to Protection Fund, pointed out, the project “Providing humanitarian aid to the war-affected population of Western Ukraine”, which is being implemented jointly with Peace Winds Japan, includes providing support not only to IDPs, but also to local residents affected by the war .<\/p>\n
For their part, Japanese colleagues noted the high level of assistance provided to internally displaced persons in the Lviv region.<\/p>\n
