Congratulations to the team of young mathematicians on the victory in the regional tournament!<\/p>\n
On April 29, 2023, a regional mathematics tournament named after Prince Yuzef Puzyna was held at the Ivan Franko National University. The purpose of the tournament is to deepen students’ knowledge of mathematics, to develop the ability to report and justify their own statements.<\/p>\n
The tasks of the tournament are:
\n1. search for talented students inclined to scientific activity;
\n2. creation of favorable conditions for realization and development of creative abilities of schoolchildren;
\n3. formation of students’ interest in exact sciences;
\n4. improvement of work with gifted students.<\/p>\n
J\u00f3zef Puzyna is a famous mathematician who lived and worked in Lviv in the first half of the 20th century. He was a professor at Lviv University and made a significant contribution to the development of mathematics, particularly in probability theory, information theory, combinatorics, control theory, and the theory of integral equations.
\nSokal region was represented by the team of young mathematicians “Sokalchanka”, which won first place!<\/p>\n
The team consists of students of Sokal secondary school I-III degrees No. 4 Petryshyn Maksym, Myroslav Kotsyubyak, Sofiya Rybak, Mishchuk Makariy, Drabych Veronika, The team was prepared by Larisa Yaroslavivna Krovitska, a mathematics teacher of Sokal Secondary School I-III degrees No. 4 and the Sokal Small Academy Sciences of the student youth named after Ihor Bogachevsky”.<\/p>\n
