On May 23, the Educational Academy “Using the remote Moodle platform to organize an effective e-environment of an educational institution” was held in Lviv.<\/p>\n
The participants of the Academy were managers and teachers of professional (vocational and technical) education institutions of the region.<\/p>\n
The Educational Academy was organized as part of the implementation of the project of deploying a virtual learning environment (VLE) in professional colleges, lyceums and schools of the Lviv region based on the Moodle platform, which provides teachers, students and administrators with a highly developed set of tools for computerized learning, including distance learning.<\/p>\n
It should be noted that the free open platform Moodle is one of the most popular in the world: according to statistics, the number of its users exceeded the similar total indicator for all other platforms combined.<\/p>\n
Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State Oleg Oleg Paska took part in the event. He emphasized that Lviv Oblast is the first region in Ukraine that introduced the practice of organizing distance learning on a single platform in the school education system. And to date, more than 2,600 educators of the region have already completed training organization courses on Moodle.<\/p>\n
“At first, we discussed for a long time choosing the appropriate platform. But now we have already made sure that we have chosen the most perfect and most versatile of them. The most famous higher education institutions not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe work on Moodle. Therefore, by September 1, all vocational education institutions of the region must deploy Moodle. And it will be not only a platform for learning, but also a single system for management. After all, this system itself generates reports and statistics, which are absolutely necessary for making optimal management decisions. And I hope that here too we will be able to create an education that will later be scaled to the whole of Ukraine,” Oleg Paska emphasized.<\/p>\n
It should be noted that in accordance with the Education Development Program of the Lviv Region for 2021-2025, the project “MOODLE is about 100!” is being implemented in the region. is intended to provide a technical opportunity and facilitate the deployment of a single remote Moodle platform in the ZZSO \/ZPTO. Its mission is to involve 100 regional educational institutions in the project every year. The organizers and coordinators of the project are the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv State University and the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies of the Lviv Polytechnic National University.<\/p>\n
Director of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies Margarita Noskova emphasized that according to the project “MOODLE is pro100!” the remote Moodle platform is deployed for the educational institution with the help of the regional budget, hosting is paid for, and appropriate technical support is provided.<\/p>\n
Under the conditions of co-financing of local and regional budgets (50% by 50%), training on the basics of working on the platform is carried out on advanced training courses on the basis of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies. In particular, thanks to the regional budget, each professional education institution has the opportunity to teach the basics of working with Moodle to 10 of its representatives.<\/p>\n
We would like to add that the Educational Academy was held on the basis of the Lviv Vocational College of Hotel Tourism and Restaurant Business (36 Pulyuya St.).\u2800<\/p>\n
