In particular, during the last week in Lviv Oblast, we have 188 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19, compared to 72 in the previous week<\/p>\n
According to research by the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, strains of the “Omicron” coronavirus that were present last year are circulating in the Lviv region.<\/p>\n
The new strains of Covid-19 – “Pirola” and “Erida”, which are now massively sickening residents of the USA and some other countries of the world, have not been detected in Lviv region so far.<\/p>\n
“Pirola” is a variety of “Omicron” that has undergone about 30 mutations. It is very contagious. There are data that people who have already been sick with the coronavirus are also infected with the new strain, because the immune memory is not long-lasting and this variant does not see previous immune protection.<\/p>\n
🔹Therefore, the only way of protection is vaccination. It is recommended to receive two doses of the basic vaccine and two booster doses.<\/p>\n
The first booster should be given five months after vaccination, and the second four months after the first booster. Vaccines are available and they are free.<\/p>\n
Various types of viruses that cause ARVI (adenoviruses, rhinoviruses, enteroviruses, etc.) already make themselves known, and become even more active when it gets cold.<\/p>\n
Influenza viruses will join them. According to the WHO forecast, the following strains of influenza viruses will circulate in the 2023-2024 epidemic season:
\n➡️ influenza virus A\/Victoria\/4897\/2022(H1N1)pdm09;
\n➡️ influenza virus A\/Darwin\/9\/2021 (H3N2);
\n➡️ influenza virus B\/Austria\/1359417\/2021 (line B\/Victoria);
\n➡️ virus, influenza B\/Phuket\/3073\/2013 (lineage B\/Yamagata).<\/p>\n
It is these strains that will be part of the quadrivalent flu vaccines that will be used this episeason.<\/p>\n
The vaccine is already beginning to arrive at pharmacies in the Lviv region. It is worth taking care of vaccination for people from risk groups, for whom vaccination is especially recommended.<\/p>\n
Doctors advise to get vaccinated, first of all, people from the risk group: people aged 60 years and older, children from 6 months, pregnant women, people with chronic diseases, people from the professional risk group (doctors, teachers, military, journalists, sellers, etc.).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
