Under the procedural leadership of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a 51-year-old resident of Sambir Oblast was notified of suspicion. He is accused of organizing the illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).<\/p>\n
According to the investigation, the suspect helped conscripts to illegally cross the border by bypassing checkpoints.<\/p>\n
He valued his shipping services to the European Union at $10,000 per person.<\/p>\n
The law enforcement officers arrested the suspect “red-handed” while receiving the so-called advance in the amount of 5,000 US dollars.<\/p>\n
At the prosecutor’s request, the detainee was remanded in custody with the right to post bail.<\/p>\n
Investigations are ongoing, all persons involved in the crime are being identified.<\/p>\n
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region, operational support is carried out by the SBU Directorate in the Lviv region.<\/p>\n
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.<\/p>\n
