The first medical association of Lviv needs blood donors. It is here that Ukrainians with various types of injuries are helped every day, and some of them urgently need a blood transfusion or its components to save their lives. Blood of groups (I) Rh – and (II) Rh – is urgently needed now.<\/p>\n
“Stocks of blood and its components, which are necessary to save patients’ lives, are running out. Now there is an urgent need for donor blood of the first Rh – and second Rh – groups. Come to the city blood service center of the St. Panteleimon Hospital and help our doctors save the lives of patients,” the First Medical Association notes.<\/p>\n

By the way, every healthy person between the ages of 18 and 60 who has no medical contraindications can be a blood donor. Donating blood is safe and even useful, doctors say. After all, it contributes to self-recovery of the body and prevention of cardiovascular diseases.<\/p>\n
WHO CAN BE A DONOR AND WHAT ARE THE CONTRAINDICATIONS<\/p>\n
Every able-bodied Ukrainian over the age of 18 can be a donor. Your weight must be at least 50 kg – otherwise, blood sampling may be dangerous for your health.
\nTo become a donor, you must undergo an appropriate medical examination at a medical facility before donating blood and you must not have any contraindications determined by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Absolute contraindications for donating blood and its components<\/p>\n
Regardless of the age of the disease and the results of treatment, blood donors cannot be those with the following contraindications.<\/p>\n
INFECTIOUS AND PARASITIC DISEASES<\/p>\n
AIDS, carrier of HIV infection, congenital or acquired syphilis, viral hepatitis, positive test result for markers of viral hepatitis, all forms of tuberculosis, brucellosis, typhus, tularemia, leprosy, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, echinococcosis, toxoplasmosis, filariasis, ringworm, leishmaniasis .<\/p>\n
SOMATIC DISEASES
\nmalignant neoplasms, blood diseases, organic diseases of the central nervous system, complete lack of hearing and (or) speech, mental diseases, drug addiction, alcoholism, cardiovascular diseases (hypertensive disease II-III century, coronary heart disease, atherosclerosis, arrhythmias, thrombophlebitis , heart defects);
\nrespiratory diseases (bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis, emphysema of the lungs, obstructive bronchitis, pneumosclerosis);
\ndiseases of the digestive organs (achylic gastritis, peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum);
\ndiseases of the liver and biliary tract (chronic liver diseases, including toxic nature and unclear etiology, calculous cholecystitis, liver cirrhosis);
\nkidney disease (diffuse and focal kidney damage, urolithiasis);
\ndiseases of connective tissue, radiation sickness, diseases of the endocrine system, diseases of the ENT organs (ozen, other acute and chronic severe purulent-inflammatory diseases), eye diseases (high myopia – 5 diopters and more, trachoma, complete blindness, residual effects of uveitis);
\nskin diseases (psoriasis, erythroderma, eczema, lupus erythematosus, bullous dermatoses, widespread fungal and pustular lesions);
\nosteomyelitis, surgical interventions for amputation or resection of an organ and transplantation of organs and tissues.
\nTemporary contraindications for donating blood and its components<\/p>\n
If you have diseases that are not included in this list, inform the doctor – the question of admission to donation is decided by the doctor of the blood transfusion institution or the relevant specialists. Taking blood and (or) its components from a donor is allowed only on the condition that the health of the donor will not be harmed.<\/p>\n

\nContact with hepatitis A patients for 3 months
\nContact with patients with hepatitis B, C for 1 year<\/p>\n
