On Thursday, 25 January, Lviv will say goodbye to soldiers Mykhailo Boikov and Vasyl Borysenko, who were killed by Russian occupiers while defending Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.<\/p>\n
The funeral ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, followed by a city farewell ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Rynok Square. The soldiers will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.<\/p>\n
Biographical information about the defenders<\/p>\n
He studied at a secondary school in Bryukhovychi. After graduation, he received vocational education in Kamianka-Buzka, Lviv region.<\/p>\n
During the last period, he lived in Ivano-Frankivsk and worked in the construction industry. According to his family, he was an extremely sensitive, friendly and non-conflict person who loved life.<\/p>\n
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, despite his lack of military experience, he stood up to defend the state from the invaders. He performed combat missions in the eastern direction in the ranks of the 79th separate airborne assault brigade of the Tauride Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Vasyl Borysenko is survived by his mother, three sisters, godparents, aunts, nieces, friends and comrades-in-arms.<\/p>\n
As a child, Mykhailo lived on Virmenska Street. He studied at the former secondary school \u211635 in Lviv and at the secondary school \u211662. After graduation, he served in the military in Brody, Lviv region.<\/p>\n
For a certain period, he lived in the capital, and lately he was engaged in repair work in Lviv. According to his family, he was a jack of all trades, an exceptionally creative person and had an extraordinary talent for drawing.<\/p>\n
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to defend his homeland from the occupiers. After completing training in the UK, he performed combat missions in the east as part of the 225th separate territorial defence battalion of the 127th separate territorial defence brigade of the Regional Directorate “East” of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
