The child’s parents turned to the Center’s specialists after a very long journey through various hospitals in Ukraine (more than 30 discharges). The boy could not be diagnosed for a long time. At the same time, they were treating the wrong disease. The family came to the Lviv Center for Children’s Medicine from Mykolaiv Oblast.<\/p>\n
After all the examinations, the doctors at OKHMATDYT determined that the child had lymphangioma of the parotid and chewing areas on the right and the hyoid area on the left. The specialists performed sclerotherapy of the corresponding areas.<\/p>\n
According to the doctors, the boy tolerated the sclerotherapy well, and after a break of 3 months, Yegor was injected with the drug again. Doctors are planning 3 courses of sclerotherapy. And then the child will have a break.<\/p>\n
“We monitor the condition of the malformation with the help of ultrasound diagnostics. Already at the first control ultrasound screening after sclerosis, there is a positive dynamics,” said Yulia Khomyn, pediatric vascular surgeon at the Center.<\/p>\n
According to the Center, doctors constantly need to monitor the activity of the processes in the neoplasm – whether it changes or not. After all, the malformation requires treatment throughout a person’s life.<\/p>\n
