The parish youth and children with their parents and grandparents gathered in the parish Bible and Catechetical School and took part in a master class on making Stretna candles from natural wax, conducted by Fr Serhiy Dovba, the UGCC Environmental Office of the Lviv Archeparchy. For two hours, the parishioners made candles of natural wax with their own hands, which they took home to bless on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord.<\/p>\n
The parishioners donated the money raised for the eco-candles to the St Egidius community, which has been carrying out charitable service for many years, preparing and feeding hot dinners to the poor, homeless and low-income people in Lviv every Thursday.<\/p>\n
Thus, on Thursday, 25 January, the charitable funds from the campaign were turned into good for those in need and support for the UGCC’s open-ended initiative “Feed the Poor”.<\/p>\n
