On Thursday, February 1, the Lviv community will say goodbye to soldiers Bohdan Kozak and Ihor Levytskyi, who defended Ukraine from Russian occupiers. Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.<\/p>\n
The funeral ceremony for soldier Bohdan Kozak will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. The defender will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv.<\/p>\n
The funeral service for soldier Ihor Levytskyi will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Nicholas of the UGCC in the village of Pidbirtsi (68 Yakhymovycha Street). The defender will be buried at the local cemetery in Pidbirtsi.<\/p>\n
Biographical information about the defenders<\/p>\n
Bohdan Kozak (“Wormwood”) (27.01.1995-20.01.2024) Lviv resident.<\/p>\n
He studied at the secondary school \u211677, and later graduated from the former Vocational School \u211628.<\/p>\n
He had an exceptional talent for cooking, so after graduation he worked as a chef in a number of restaurants in Lviv. In his spare time, he was fond of fishing. According to his family, Bohdan Kozak was extremely persistent and hardworking.<\/p>\n
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to defend his homeland from the occupiers. He performed combat missions in the Luhansk region as part of the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov” of the Eastern Operational and Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Bohdan Kozak is survived by his mother and brother.<\/p>\n

Ihor Levytskyi (01.09.1970-29.01.2024)<\/p>\n
Ihor Levytskyi was born in the village of Bessarabka, Mykolaiv region. Later, Ihor Levytskyi’s family moved to Pidbirtsi, Lviv region.<\/p>\n
He studied at the Pidbirtsi Lyceum of the Lviv City Council. He graduated from the State Vocational and Technical Educational Institution “Lviv Professional Polytechnic Lyceum” (then Vocational School No. 33 in Lviv).<\/p>\n
After completing his military service, he worked at a plumbing factory and recently has been doing repairs in Pidbirtsi. He was fond of photography and computer technology.<\/p>\n
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the military unit A4838 to defend his homeland.<\/p>\n
