As explained by the Halych district administration, when using such brushes, janitors work in teams. First, the janitor walks along the sidewalk with a brush, which makes the debris clump together along the sidewalk, and then other janitors pick up the debris in balls and take it away. This way, the territory is cleaned quickly and efficiently.<\/p>\n
“To facilitate the work of janitors, our utilities have purchased mechanized cleaning brushes. In particular, municipal management companies have 17 brushes and 3 brushes are equipped with a power driven brush.<\/p>\n
The efficiency of such a brush is several times higher than if the area were cleaned by one janitor with a broom. For example, on average, one janitor has to clean 4 thousand m2 of street area. Given the fact that there are vacancies and there are not enough janitors, some have a larger area to work on. Thus, such equipment makes it possible to clean the territory quickly and efficiently, because using it, janitors work in teams. First, an employee brushes the sidewalk, which makes the garbage get knocked together, and then the janitors collect the garbage in balls and take it away,” the Halychyna District Administration explains.<\/p>\n
Today, such works were carried out on Stryiska Street, towards the market. According to the district administration, cars were parked in some parts of the street, which made it difficult for the utility companies to work.<\/p>\n
According to the Lviv City Council’s security department, in accordance with the decision of the city commission on road safety, the Halytska district administration should install signs 3.34 “No Parking” on the section at 4-24 Stryiska Street, which prohibits stopping and parking of vehicles, except for taxis picking up or dropping off passengers.
