On Thursday, February 22, Lviv will say goodbye to soldiers Oleh Koroliak and Dmytro Slyvka, who defended Ukraine from Russian occupiers. Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.<\/p>\n
The funeral ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, followed by a city farewell ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Rynok Square.<\/p>\n
Soldier Oleh Koroliak will be buried at the Ryasnyanske cemetery. Soldier Dmytro Slyvka will be taken to Kyiv for cremation, so the day of his burial will be known later.<\/p>\n
Biographical information on the defenders<\/p>\n
Oleh Koroliak (02.05.1991-15.02.2024) A resident of Lviv.<\/p>\n
He studied at the secondary school \u211692 in Lviv. He studied at the Faculty of Chemistry of Lviv Polytechnic National University.<\/p>\n
After graduation, he served in the Air Defense Forces. He worked at Linaparat Service Limited Liability Company, and later at SavService in Lviv.<\/p>\n
From the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to defend his homeland from the invaders. He defended the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state as part of the 115th separate mechanized brigade of the Reserve Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He performed combat missions in hot spots of the frontline. For personal courage, he was awarded the “War Veteran” badge.<\/p>\n
Oleh Koroliak is survived by his parents, wife and two children.<\/p>\n
Dmytro Slyvka (19.08.1996-18.02.2024) A resident of Lviv.<\/p>\n
He studied at Lyceum \u211618 of the Lviv City Council. He graduated from the Ukrainian Catholic University and the Ivan Bobersky Lviv State University of Physical Culture.<\/p>\n
He loved the mountains and was an active sportsman. According to his family, Dmytro was very stubborn and persistent.<\/p>\n
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to defend his homeland from the Russian occupiers. He defended the independence and territorial integrity of the state in the ranks of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade “Magura” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
