A 13-year-old boy was killed by a car in Lviv region – police are establishing the circumstances of the incident<\/p>\n
The accident occurred on February 25, at about 19.45, near the village of Horbkiv, Chervonohrad district.<\/p>\n
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Jeep Cherokee, a 52-year-old resident of Sokal, hit a pedestrian, a 13-year-old resident of the same city.<\/p>\n
The boy died at the scene from the injuries sustained in the accident.<\/p>\n
Investigators of the Transport Crimes Investigation Department of the Lviv Regional Police opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of the Road Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.<\/p>\n
