Under the procedural leadership of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the head of one of the departments of the Western Interregional Department of the State Labor Service was notified of suspicion of soliciting and receiving an unlawful benefit (part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). His accomplice, a 64-year-old resident of Lviv Oblast, was also charged with aiding and abetting in extorting and receiving illegal benefits (Part 5 of Article 27, Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).<\/p>\n
According to the investigation, the employee demanded an illegal benefit from a private enterprise for registering a declaration of compliance of the material and technical base on occupational health and safety with the requirements of the law.<\/p>\n
For UAH 8,000, he promised not to create artificial obstacles in their registration.<\/p>\n
The head of the department received the bribe through an intermediary, a former colleague.<\/p>\n
The suspects were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, after receiving an unlawful benefit.<\/p>\n
Investigative actions are ongoing, the question of choosing preventive measures for the detainees, as well as the removal of an official from his position, is being resolved.<\/p>\n
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigators of the territorial department of the SBI in the city of Lviv under the operational support of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Lviv region of the SSR of the National Police of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.<\/p>\n
