Mykhailo Verbytskyi is a Ukrainian composer, choral conductor, father of the UGCC, author of the music of the national anthem “Ukraine has not yet died.” The first performance of the work “Ukraine Has Not Yet Died” as the national anthem took place on March 10, 1865, in Przemysl as the final number of a concert dedicated to Taras Shevchenko.<\/p>\n
On December 27, 2015, on the 200th anniversary of the birth of Mykhailo Verbytskyi, a monument in his honor was unveiled and consecrated in Lviv. The monument was erected at the intersection of Bandera and Chuprynky streets on the initiative of the Nadsyannya Society.
