Under the procedural supervision of prosecutors of the Lviv Region Prosecutor’s Office, the budget received over UAH 20 million of unpaid tax.<\/p>\n
It was established that the head of an enterprise engaged in the wholesale and retail trade of beverages, including excisable goods, concealed information about value added tax liabilities in his tax returns. In particular, the accounting records and, accordingly, the tax reports did not reflect transactions related to the write-off of inventory.<\/p>\n
As part of the criminal proceedings, the company’s director reimbursed the damages in full.<\/p>\n
Based on the results of the investigation, the prosecution materials were submitted to the court on the fact of intentional tax evasion (part 4 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).<\/p>\n
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Lviv region.<\/p>\n
Note: According to Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.<\/p>\n
