The former head of a utility company, accused of abuse of official position, will be tried in Lviv Oblast<\/p>\n
The former acting director of one of the communal enterprises of Sambir Oblast, whose illegal actions caused more than 300,000 hryvnias to the Sambir City Council, was exposed by the investigators of the especially serious crimes investigation department (detectives) of the investigative department of the Lviv Oblast Police together with the operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in Lviv Oblast, under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Oblast Prosecutor’s Office.<\/p>\n
During the pre-trial investigation, the law enforcement officers established that in 2022, the perpetrator, using his official position, entered into contracts for ongoing repairs of the street and road network in the city of Sambori with a contractor who did not have the relevant experience, as well as the equipment and means to perform such work.<\/p>\n
Later, the manager of the utility company involved employees of his own company in carrying out repairs, and also signed acts of completed works, which contained false information about works that were not actually performed, as well as about materials that were either not used or were of inappropriate quality quality<\/p>\n
The total amount of damage caused to the Sambir City Council is more than 320 thousand hryvnias.<\/p>\n
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings opened under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Abuse of power or official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed. The indictment is referred to the court.<\/p>\n
The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of three to six years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years, with a fine of five hundred to one thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens.<\/p>\n
