The Drohobych community was recognized for its significant and systematic assistance to the Ukrainian Defense Forces during the full-scale enemy invasion.<\/p>\n
In terms of the amount of funds allocated from the local budget to support the Defense Forces in 2022 and for 10 months of 2023, Drohobych ranked 15th in the TOP 40 cities of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
This rating was compiled by the NGO “Resistance” and the information resource “New Economy Media” based on the analysis of local budget expenditures.<\/p>\n
At the same time, Oleksandr Tomashenko, Director of the Screen Service Company, was recognized for the development of volunteer formations of the Territorial Defense Forces and his daily work to support the soldiers and strengthen the country’s defense capabilities in general.<\/p>\n
The letter of appreciation signed by Colonel Oleh Shevchuk, Head of the Regional Directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces “West”, was presented today during a Monday staff meeting by Mayor Taras Kuchma. The head of the community thanked for the fulfillment of important tasks and noted that not all the actions of the community in this direction can be public.<\/p>\n
It is worth emphasizing that the data recently published in the rating study is official. But despite these funds, a lot of assistance was provided by our utility companies, and a lot of equipment and special means were transferred through joint efforts, which significantly increases the level of contribution to support the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Not everything can be shown and covered today. Everything will come in due course. But for now, I am grateful to everyone who is involved and working for our victory,” said Mayor Taras Kuchma.<\/p>\n
