The Chernobyl accident, which occurred on April 26, 1986, was firmly etched in the national memory of Ukrainians. The event became a symbol of tragedy, the destruction of ordinary life and a trusting attitude towards the world and nature. At the same time, it accelerated the restoration of Ukraine’s independence and ushered in a new era – postmodernism.<\/p>\n
Documenting and commemorating an event, creating a new artistic reality, the idea of warning, the motive of revitalization and revival – all this sounds in various artistic forms.<\/p>\n
“At the lecture, we will consider literature, visual art, theater, cinematography, music, as well as memes, posters, video games and other “post-Chernobyl” art that has been created for thirty-eight years and does not lose its relevance,” the organizers say.<\/p>\n
