Following a public prosecution, prosecutors from the Lviv Regional and Pustomyty District Prosecutor’s Offices found the 48-year-old resident of Kharkiv region guilty. He was convicted on the facts of defilement, sexual assault, attempted rape and rape of a minor, production and storage without the purpose of sale or distribution of child pornography (Article 156(2), Article 153(6), Article 15(3), Article 152(6), Article 152(6), Article 301-1(1), Article 301-1(3) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).<\/p>\n
He was sentenced to life imprisonment. He was also deprived of the right to hold positions in enterprises, institutions and organizations that carry out work related to children, or to engage in activities related to work with children individually for a period of 3 years.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors proved in court that the defendant had committed a number of crimes against sexual freedom and sexual inviolability of a minor.<\/p>\n
The latter was the head of a public organization in Kharkiv region. The man met an 11-year-old boy at the time because he attended the organization.<\/p>\n
During field trips organized by the defendant, he committed lewd and other sexual acts against the minor.<\/p>\n
After the start of the full-scale invasion, the child’s family moved to Lviv region, but the defendant systematically came there and raped the victim in deserted places.<\/p>\n
In addition, during the aforementioned unlawful acts, the man was filming, which he stored on his laptop. The video file contained child pornography.<\/p>\n
The information about the accused will be entered into the Register of persons convicted of crimes against sexual freedom and sexual inviolability of a minor.<\/p>\n
Until the verdict enters into force, the man will be kept in custody.<\/p>\n
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Kharkiv region under the supervision of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.<\/p>\n
