As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Mitsubishi, a 43-year-old resident of Stryi district, hit a 12-year-old girl, a resident of Horodok, who was crossing the roadway on a bicycle in a pedestrian crossing. The child was injured in the collision and taken to hospital.<\/p>\n
Investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of the rules of road safety). The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.<\/p>\n
The police are establishing the circumstances of the incident.<\/p>\n
