“The safety of children comes first. There is a war going on in Ukraine, but despite all the challenges, our schools held classes and our kindergartens held classes.<\/p>\n
This year, almost UAH 34 million was spent from the Lviv city budget on the construction of shelters in schools and almost UAH 9 million in kindergartens. The total amount is UAH 42.5 million. Improving shelters is an ongoing process, but these are the expenditures that are a priority.<\/p>\n
There is also a perception that air raids interfere with the offline educational process. I would like to respond with facts: out of 175 school days, the average 7th grade student missed only 8 days, or 60 lessons, due to air raids. This is only 4.5%. That is, almost 96% of the time at school, children had full lessons and training,” said Andriy Zakalyuk.<\/p>\n
The city’s chief educator also said that in May a survey was conducted by the UCU Centre for the Dignity of the Child on school safety. You can read it here.<\/p>\n
