The accident happened on 8 July at around 16.00 on Drohobytska Street in the district centre.<\/p>\n
Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that the driver of a Renault Traffic minibus, a 20-year-old resident of Stryi, hit a pedestrian, also a local resident aged 58, who was crossing the roadway within a pedestrian crossing. As a result, the woman was injured and hospitalised.<\/p>\n
Investigators of the Stryi District Police Department opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.<\/p>\n
The police are establishing the circumstances of the incident.<\/p>\n
