As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Tesla, a 22-year-old Lviv resident, hit a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway on an unregulated pedestrian crossing. The man died at the scene from his injuries.<\/p>\n
Investigators of the Transport Crimes Investigation Department of the Lviv Regional Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.<\/p>\n
Pre-trial investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident and the identity of the deceased.<\/p>\n
