The road accident occurred on 16 August at about 8.30 a.m. in the village of Cherlianske Predmostia, Lviv district.<\/p>\n
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, a 28-year-old resident of Horodok, driving an Audi Q7, hit a 70-year-old cyclist, a resident of the same town. As a result of the collision, the cyclist was injured and taken to hospital.<\/p>\n
Investigators of Police Department No. 1 of Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.<\/p>\n
The police are establishing the circumstances of the incident.<\/p>\n
