She faces up to fifteen years in prison for her crime.<\/p>\n
As established by the criminal police operatives, together with investigators and officers of other services of the Drohobych District Police Department, on 21 August, around 1 am, a conflict arose between a 50-year-old resident of a village in the district and her partner of the same age, during which the woman struck the man numerous times on the head with a hammer, causing fatal injuries.<\/p>\n
Convinced that her partner was dead, the suspect tried to hide the traces of the crime by taking the body out of the house, throwing it into a ditch, cleaning the scene and hiding the murder weapon (a hammer).<\/p>\n
However, the body was discovered by neighbours who reported it to the police. The law enforcement officers established the circumstances of the man’s death and detained the offender in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Investigators of the territorial police unit, under the procedural supervision of the Drohobych District Prosecutor’s Office, served her a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offence under Part 1 of Article 115 (Murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for a sentence of imprisonment for a term of seven to fifteen years.<\/p>\n
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, the issue of choosing a type of detention is being decided.<\/p>\n
