The conflict between the men arose suddenly while drinking alcohol. The detainee faces up to eight years in prison for his crime.<\/p>\n
As established by criminal police operatives together with investigators of the Sambir District Police Department, on 9 October, in the district centre, a conflict arose between two men aged 51 and 46, during which the older man stabbed the younger one in the stomach. Subsequently, doctors diagnosed the victim with a “penetrating stab wound of the anterior abdominal wall with liver damage”.<\/p>\n
At the scene, law enforcement officers seized material evidence – a folding knife. The attacker was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Investigators of the territorial police unit served him a notice of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 121 (intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for a sentence of imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.<\/p>\n
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court will soon choose a measure of restraint against the suspect.<\/p>\n
