The road accident occurred on 8 November at 18.20 on Vyacheslav Chornovil Street in Sambir.<\/p>\n
Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that the driver of a Volkswagen Passat, a 55-year-old resident of Sambir district, hit a pedestrian, a 59-year-old resident of the city.<\/p>\n
As a result of the accident, the man was injured and hospitalised.<\/p>\n
Investigators of the Sambir District Police Department opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.<\/p>\n
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.<\/p>\n
