On 17 October 2024, the Vatican announced that the Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, with the consent of the Synod, accepted the resignation of Bishop Mykhailo Koltun, who had reached the age of 75.<\/p>\n
In his place, a new ruling bishop was appointed, the current auxiliary bishop, Bishop Petro Loza. These decisions were blessed by the Holy Father Francis.<\/p>\n
